Unveiled in New York alongside the 2019 Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender, Argyle Dreaming™ pays homage to the ancient landscape and majestic colours of Western Australia’s east Kimberley region, the extraordinary birthplace of Argyle pink diamonds. It was a painstaking endeavour that took more than 800 hours to create.
Described by its creator, master craftsman and jeweller John Calleija, as “a permanent record of the most intriguing diamonds in the world”, the one-of-a-kind necklace and ring features 673 pink, white, yellow, blue and champagne Argyle diamonds, and 237 grams of gold.
Forming the centrepiece of the necklace is an exquisite 3.55 carat white Argyle diamond which is interchangeable with the centre stone of the matching ring. Argyle’s fancy coloured diamonds in shades of pink, blue and yellow are accented throughout the jewel’s unique design, depicting the sunburnt lands and the snaking rivers that are iconic to the east Kimberley region.
Speaking to the historical significance of the jewel, Mr. Calleija commented, “This was a labour of love, an opportunity to work with the entire Argyle diamond colour palette, from a country that is imbued with rich heritage and dreamings.”
